GoWYLD Access

Modified on Mon, 08 May 2023 at 09:45 AM

Wyoming libraries have purchased access to many resources for the use of Wyoming citizens through the GoWYLD portal. These products range in scope from research article databases and scholarly journals to reading recommendations, language learning, ebooks, and more.

If you are in a Wyoming library or on a K12 or college campus, you should have direct access to all the products listed on the GoWYLD site.  Any licensing exceptions will be noted in the database description.  Home or remote users also have access, but must first authenticate with a WYLD library card to verify that they are Wyoming residents.

Users should not have to provide a username and password if they are in a school or public library.  If a request for a username and password is being displayed from the vendor, then the WYLD Office will work with the site to update any network addressing with the vendor.  Schools may also need to review any network filter settings that can interfere with direct access to the GoWYLD resources.

Keep in mind that some resources require that the user create an account.  These include LinkedIn Learning and Learning Express Library.

Home users with virus protection or other Internet security software may need to change settings to allow exceptions for GoWYLD.

Add these as safe or trusted sites in home security software:

  • wyld.wyldcatalog.org
  • wsl.idm.oclc.org

Other web browser settings to check:

  • Is the browser up to date?
  • Are cookies allowed?
  • Is the latest version of Java installed?
  • Is javascript allowed?
  • Clearing cookies and temporary Internet files from the browser can also clear up many issues.
