Libraries using both email and SMS notification for patrons with MessageBee will have two different overdue notice reports. One limits the output to just those patrons with SMSONLY in their user category 5. The other is intended for use with printed or phone notifications and excludes patrons with SMSONLY in the user category 5.
When a patron has an SMS number in WorkFlows (in the SMS Notice Contact Info tab), a report that runs daily will update the User Category 5 to SMSONLY. If all SMS numbers are removed from the patron record, another daily report will remove that user category 5 value. Having this category in place allows us set up the notification reports so that libraries can filter SMS users out of their print/phone notice reports. If their SMS number is not removed, they will not appear in the print/phone notice reports. *If you discover a patron's SMS number is invalid and want to force the system to use the email address instead, do not just remove the category 5 of SMSONLY, you must remove the SMS entry altogether. See this article for more information.
To view patrons who would have received an email notice, choose the finished report for print/phone notices and choose to view only those with email addresses.
You can also view a list of users who received either an email or a text message using the MessageBee advanced search feature. For instructions, view this article - Viewing sent notices in MessageBee.
