The following statuses are delivered policies in Symphony.
• OK – The user has full library privileges as defined in the policy file.
• DELINQUENT – The user can still check out items and have all the other privileges of OK users, but the workstation operator will be warned that the user is delinquent.
• BLOCKED – The user can check out items only if an override code is supplied.
• BARRED – The user cannot checkout items. The BARRED status must be removed manually by a workstation operator with special privileges before the user can check out items.
*You can change a user status, but regularly scheduled reports will return the user record to the appropriate status if block thresholds, e.g. too many items checked out, are met.
These statuses are locally unique to our system
COLLECTION - used by collection agency reports
REVIEW - used to flag a user with a BLOCKED status to alert circulation staff to check information on the user record. This status is the same as a BLOCKED status and can be reset by changing the status to anything else, such as BARRED and then changing again to 'OK'
** None of the alert statuses are the same as Suspending a User.
*** Digital checkouts are not allowed for users with a BLOCKED, BARRED, or REVIEW(blocked) status.
