This wizard allows you to create a general order for library materials, supplies, and gift items. A basic order is a complete order by itself. It is complete as soon as the ordered material has been received, paid for, and loaded. There are three types of basic orders: gift, approval, and firm.

Using the Add Basic Order Wizard
When you first open the wizard, you will see an Item Search Window.
Item Search Window
For information about importing and overlaying records using SmartPort, see Cataloging
If you are ordering something that is not in the catalog, such as supplies, you can select “Skip Item Lookup”. Selecting this will take you straight to the “Enter Order Information” window.
Add Temporary Title Helper Window
The defaults for this window are based upon the settings in this helper’s properties. For example, I selected “Auto-generate temporary XX call numbers”, “Add item when adding a new call number”, and “Auto-generate item ID when adding item”. Also, I selected “DEWEY” for the default class scheme.
