Remove Reserve Records and Remove an Item from the Reserve Desk
You can remove reserve records one item at a time using the Remove Reserve wizard, or remove reserve records in batch using the Remove Reserve Records report in WorkFlows. Contact the WYLD Office if you are interested in removing reserve records in batch. You can also remove individual copies from the reserve desk using the Modify Reserve wizard.
To remove am entire reserve record:
- Click on the Reserves toolbar.
- Under the Reserve Information and Maintenance group of wizards, select Remove Reserve.
- Scan or enter the barcode of the item on reserve. You can also use the two helpers in the upper left-hand corner of the window to help locate the correct reserve record. Use the Reserve Search helper to search for the reserve record by Course Id, Course Name, Instructor ID, Instructor Name, or the Item Search helper to search by Title, Title Control #, Author, etc.
- If the reserve record is correct, click Remove Reserve.
- Click Yes.
- Click OK.
Note: If the reserve record you are removing has more than one copy on reserve, the Remove Reserve wizard removes all copies from reserve at once. If you want to remove one copy from reserve, but keep the other copies on reserve, use the Modify Reserve wizard. In the Modify Reserve wizard, change the status of the item you want to take off reserve to NOT ON RESERVE. See instructions below.
To remove an item from the reserve desk:
- Click on the Reserves toolbar.
- Under the Reserve Information and Maintenance group of wizards, select Modify Reserve.
- Scan or entire the barcode of the item on reserve. You can also use the two helpers in the upper left-hand corner of the window to help locate the correct reserve record. Use the Reserve Search helper to search for the item by Course Id, Course Name, Instructor ID, Instructor Name, or the Item Search helper to search by Title, Title Control #, Author, etc.
- Click Get Reserve Information.
- Under the Basic Information tab, from the Status drop-down, select DORMANT.
- Click the Individual Reserve tab.
- From the New stage drop-down, select INACTIVE.
- Click on the Copies tab.
- From the New Status dropdown, select NOT ON RESERVE. If you would like to keep the item at the reserve desk and the Keep Copies at Desk box is checked in the Basic Information tab, select KEPT AT DESK
- Click Modify.
