You may send an e-mail receipt upon completion of the checkout process. Right click on the “Checkout” wizard and select “Properties”. Slide down the screen to the “Email Checkout Receipt” section.  You may display either or both “Email All Checkouts Receipt” or “Email Current Checkouts Receipt”  buttons by checking the boxes.

If you leave the “Template:” box empty your patrons will receive a default, non-library specific message.

You will most likely want the WYLD Office to create a specific template that is tailored to your library.  You may include any wording both before the list of items and after. Below are examples for two libraries. Subject and Reply to are also library specific.

The last selection on the property screen is “Prompt for email address if missing”. You will want to experiment with the last one to make sure it works to your advantage.

!! Make sure to save your properties when exiting WorkFlows.

Congratulations, you saved… message

To include the value of items checked out message at the bottom of either printed or emailed receipts, right click on the Checkout Wizard and select Properties.  In the Charge printing section, click on the Print date due slips button.

The amount shown is the total amount of all items charged that have a value in the item price field of the item record.

The default message for the printed receipt is this:

Congratulations! Borrowing these items today saved you:  $xxx.xx

This wording comes from a system labels file on the server which is saved on your Workflows workstation in the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Sirsi\JWF\Language\Custom\English\labels

The custom labels file on the server has very few customizations and we have not had to make changes in many years.  Workflows only retrieves the custom file when we make a change and configure the file for upload.  If you prefer wording for your “you saved” message you can edit your local labels file found in the directory location above.  Open that file in a text editor like notepad and find this line:

sum_of_checked_out_items_price_rcpt_label||Congratulations! Borrowing these items today saved you|

Make the changes you prefer and save it.  This file will only be overwritten when we make a change to the server labels file, which as mentioned is very rarely. When installing Workflows for the first time on a staff pc the local labels file will need to be edited.  You will only need to make this customization on Workflows machines where you will be printing receipts.  If you choose to make changes locally on your Workflows pc’s be sure to have the WYLD office change the wording in your email file discussed above. This way you have consistency for both the email and print receipt.
